First Gardens

Thanks to the kind help of Ana this last week, there are now several small gardens in the Gaspar Caballero method – mixing flowers and edible plants in small manageable spaces – all watered from the cleaned acequia running from the stream.

Ana also did some nice clearing of paths and made the first start up by the barn, in the space that one day should be the “wet room” – bathroom, shower, plant room.. mash-up.

I emptied out the alberca, or rather it half-emptied itself, as there appears to be a number of small holes in the granite block walls, and also the floor has a crack – this seems to be made from a granite sand & cement mix, which I will try and repair along with the walls.

This next week is going to be dedicated to the water canals, then I plan to think about paths, stone steps and the summer shower/toilet space on the terrace below where I plan to park the van.
